A police officer has been carried away on a stretcher after collapsing during Queen Elizabeth's II funeral today.

The officer, dressed in his metropolitan police uniform, fainted just before the funeral procession travelled down the Mall, near Parliament Square in London.

He was carried away by two members of the Royal Navy.

It comes just days after a royal guard standing vigil by the Queen's coffin at Westminster Hall in London collapsed in front of mourners paying their final respects to the late sovereign.

Footage showed the solemn silence being broken as the guard, who was a member of the Royal Company of Archers collapsed to the stone floor on Wednesday night.

The incident drew shocked reactions from the mourners present.
