Ugonoh was facing Kiwi Will Quarrie on the undercard to the heavyweight battle been Joseph Parker and Australian fighter Bowie Tupou at Stadium Southland in Invercargill on Saturday night.

But stealing the spotlight from the main event, Ugonoh demolished his opponent with a brutal second-round knockout.

Video of the fight captured Ugonoh, a former kickboxing world champion, push his opponent into the corner before connecting with a vicious right cross.

The blow sent a dazed Quarrie tumbling through the ropes and on to an officials' ringside table.

The savage punch instantly became a viral hit with social media sites Reddit and Twitter uploading the video within hours of the bout.

The knockout was Ugonoh's 13th career win and condemned Quarrie to his third straight defeat.

Meanwhile, Parker, who had trained with Ugonoh ahead of their respective clashes, also delivered a telling blow, needing just 63 seconds to end Tupou's resistance.

However, the world no.8 quickly found himself in a firestorm, forced to deny suggestions Tupou had taken a dive.

"When I sat down on that punch I felt it land cleanly and I could see the result when he went down," Parker told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"You know, you definitely feel it when it hits and then you just head to the neutral corner and wait for the ref."
