British woman found dead hours after boyfriend was killed by Dominos delivery driver

Hours after a semi-professional footballer was killed by a Dominos delivery driver, his girlfriend was found dead at the house they shared in Perth.

Jason Francis, 29, passed away in hospital a few days before Christmas last year after being struck by a delivery driver in a VW Jetta while drinking with friends from his rugby club.

His long-term partner Alice Robinson, 26, was found dead the following day.

The British couple, originally from Shropshire, had moved to Australia in 2018 after travelling.

Coroners officer Clare Hope said Francis was an asbestos worker, semi-professional footballer and RAF firefighter before giving a ruling on his death.

"He was a pedestrian involved in a road traffic accident and sadly passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained,” she said.

The inquest was told Alice, a digital content magazine editor, was found dead at her house, but the coroner did not disclose a cause of death.

Before the inquest, Alice’s mother Dawn said her daughter had taken her own life.

“I am devastated to let everyone know that my beautiful daughter was so distraught she could not bear to live without her beloved Jase and chose to take her own life,” she wrote on social media.

“My husband and I now grieve for the loss of two wonderful people that brought light to everyone's life.”
