Nanny tackles brazen thief to the ground as they try to make off with package

A plucky nanny has launched into action when thieves tried to steal a long-awaited delivery from the front door of her family’s home.

When an Amazon package arrived at her place of work in Washington State, Kate Anderson was not prepared for what happened within mere minutes of the delivery.

Nanny to a one-year-old, Anderson was inside when she spotted someone approach via the home’s CCTV.

Ten minutes earlier an Amazon package had been delivered and left on the front porch.

“I saw her bending and picking it up, and they get a lot of packages. And I knew. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she's taking that,’ so I just took off after her, to be honest,” Anderson told local news station KIRO7.

Anderson made her way outside to confront the brazen thief, who ran off in shock.

The female robber attempted to jump into the car - already on the move - to make a quick getaway.

But she fell onto the driveway as the car sped off.

Anderson tackled the empty-handed thief, who had thrown the package into the car.

After restraining the woman and calling out to passers-by for help, the Sheriff deputies arrived and arrested the thief, who had outstanding warrants for drug possession and theft.

Local law enforcement say the perpetrator has also been arrested over 20 times since 2010.

Tanya Smith, Kate's friend and employer, has praised her efforts telling the station: "She’s just like a straight baller, she's amazing and doesn't take any crap from anybody”.
