Murdered school girl texted boyfriend 'OMG... I think I'm being kidnapped'

A 14-year-old girl murdered while out walking her dog in a rural area north of Detroit sent her boyfriend an ominous text message just before her death.

April Millsap wrote: “OMG… I think I’m being kidnapped.”

Her body was found several hours after her mother reported her missing to police last Thursday.

The middle school student had been on her daily walk in Armada with the family’s border collie.

Her body was found on the walking trail by joggers who had repeatedly been approached by April’s dog and led to the area where she was located, The Detroit Free Press reports.

Investigators say there were no gunshot or stab wounds on the body, but would not release any further information into the cause of her death.

Police are continuing the search for April’s killers and believe two vehicles – a grey van and a blue and white motorcycle – are connected to her death.

April’s boyfriend and family have been ruled out as suspects. A vigil was held on Saturday for the school student who would have started high school in September.
