Watch a mudslide tear a house from its foundations whole

Wild weather in the Pacific Northwest of the United States has caused a spectacular mudslide that could easily have crushed a house, but instead slid right under it, tearing it loose from its foundations.

Police have urged residents of Hoquiam, Washington, south-west of Seattle, to evacuate the village because of the danger posed by landslides like the one captured in this video.

Storms have lashed western Washington state for days, causing flash-flooding and power outages that have affected more than 150,000 people.

Drier weather is expected to ease the flooding in coming days.
