A motorcyclist has cartwheeled over a car and landed on his feet after his bike was crushed during a crash.

Motorcyclist Michael Curtis Smith's agile survival was recorded by a red light camera as he passed through the intersection of Belcher Road and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard in Florida, WFTS Tampa Bay reports.

He attempts to ride through the intersection but the driver turns left in front of him, slamming into the motorcyclist and launching Mr Smith into the air.

The crash happened on May 24 but footage is is only just emerging.

The driver of the car, Alex Jay Hall, was ticketed for an improper turn and unknowingly driving with a suspended license and police say Mr Smith also did not have the proper motorcycle endorsement on his own license.
