Pakistani batsman Misbah fools English with bizarre trick shot

Pakistani batsman Misbah-ul-Huq has bamboozled the English with a trick shot even he may not have known was going to happen.

Throughout the second Test between Pakistan and England in Dubai, the English fielders have made a habit of anticipating where the ball is going off shots heading behind the wicket from spin bowling.

So when Misbah shaped to sweep Adil Rashid down the leg side, first slip James Anderson and wicketkeeper Jos Butler could have been forgiven for taking off towards that side of the field in an attempt to cut off the shot.

However Misbah pulled out of the shot at the last second, instead playing a defensive prod that saw the ball float through the vacant first slip position, as Anderson watched on before forcing a wry smile.

Misbah has not revealed whether the shot was intentional or not.

England were attempting to force a draw at Tea on the final day, with Pakistan requiring a further two wickets.
