MH370 captain identified prime suspect

A new development in the MH370 investigation has placed further speculation on the plane's captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah.

Malaysian police reportedly named Shah a prime suspect after discovering that the 53-year-old father-of-three had made no social plans or work commitments for the future – unlike the rest of his crew.

The probe also found that the captain had programmed drills onto a flight simulator in which he practiced flying in the southern Indian Ocean where the plane was last detected and landing on an island with a short runway, the Mirror reports.

The drills are believed to have been deleted and later recovered by computer experts.

Flight MH370 was travelling from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China when it disappeared on March 8.

There has been no trace of the Boeing 777 or its 239 passengers and crew members since.
