Man smashes record for most finger snaps per minute

A Japanese man has managed to perform 296 finger snaps in a minute on a television variety show, beating the standing record of 278 snaps.

Video of university student Satoyuki Fujimura’s finger-numbing accomplishment was posted to the Guinness World Records YouTube page last week, where it has since been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

Mr Fujimura’s performance, featured on variety show Knight Scoop, saw him bouncing rapidly on his knees, face contorted in an expression of what appears to be pain, his hand a frantic blur.

Guinness World Record judge, Kaoru Ishikawa was on hand to judge the performance, and reviewing a slowed down video with the help of two professional sound engineers before pronouncing Mr Ishikawa the new record-holder.

Mr Ishikawa has been credited with performing a full 296 finger snaps within 60 seconds, trumping the existing record of 278, set in 2008 by Swedish man Jens Gudmandsen.
