Man arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of planning terror attack

A 22-year-old man has been arrested at London's Heathrow Airport on suspicion of preparing for terror acts.

Counter terrorism officers arrested the man after he returned to the UK from an undisclosed location on December 2, British media reported this morning.

The South East Counter Terrorism Unit said there was no imminent threat to airport passengers or the community at the time he was detained.

They said his arrest related to conflicts overseas.

He was held on suspicion of the preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, before being bailed to a date in February.
