Pod of killer whales spotted in river

A pod of killer whales have put on a spectacular show for people on a ferry in Scotland, jumping in-and-out of a river.

The orcas were spotted in the River Clyde at 12.30pm yesterday as passengers on one of the Western Ferries took snaps of the “once-in-a-lifetime” moment.

Witness Lindsay Moss posted a video on Twitter, showing three killer whales and a youngster rising to the surface of the water.

“Thank you Western Ferries for the fabulous view of the orcas,” she wrote on Twitter.

“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

The pod, believed to include five adults and a youngster, were sighted between Dunoon in Argyll and Bute, and Gourock in Renfrewshire.

The mammals were also seen in water between Innellan and Wemyss Bay.
