Jury selection begins in Boston bombing trial

Potential jurors in the Boston Marathon bombing trial have come face-to-face with defendant Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as jury selection begins in the closely watched case.

Twenty-one year old Tsarnaev is accused of planting twin bombings at the finish line of the Boston bombing on April 15, 2013.

Prosecutors are expected to allege he planned and carried out the attacks with pressure-cooker bombs concealed in a backpack.

In the next three days, more than 1200 potential jurors will be screened. Twelve jurors and six alternates will be chosen.

US District Judge George O'Toole has warned potential jurors to avoid news media reports about the attacks.
