An Iranian television presenter has collapsed on television after suffering severe chest pains.

Presenter Reza Rashidpour, 41 was in the middle of a report for breakfast show Now the Sun when he got up from his desk.

He continued his speech until he began to slightly slur his words.

Rashidpour's speech began to slow and he grabbed his right arm in pain as he appeared to have trouble breathing.

He then grabbed the table to steady himself before collapsing onto the floor behind his desk.

His co-host and off camera staff rushed to his aid.

Rashidpour was sent to Baqiatollah hospital where his condition was stabilised.

The host told State TV during a phone interview he suffered "a nervous attack caused the chest pain".

Rashidpour was also reportedly hospitalised last year for work related stress.
