Instagram fitness model Jen Selter kicked off US flight

Instagram fitness model Jen Selter was kicked off a passenger flight in Miami after she and her sister quarrelled with flight attendants.

Selter, 24, who has 11.7 million Instagram followers and reportedly earns nearly $AUD5.5m a year, was waiting on an American Airlines flight to New York on Sunday when it was delayed by mechanical trouble for about 90 minutes.

An argument broke out with cabin staff when the social media influencer was asked to sit down after leaving her seat, reports CBS New York.

Selter filmed the ensuing row on social media which heightened when the plane’s captain and then police were called.

“I did nothing wrong but got kicked off the plane,” she tweeted.

“American Airlines calls the shots,” an officer is seen saying in one of the tweeted clips. “They don’t want you to fly on their plane today.”

She hinted on social media that another passenger decided to leave the plane in response to the treatment of Selter and her sister.

American Airlines said it offered the social media personality hotel accommodation and transport, which she declined.

Selter later took another flight with the carrier to New York.
