Inmate wins right to Prince paternity test

A US prison inmate claiming to be the long-lost son of legendary singer Prince has won the right to a DNA test.
Carlin Williams sought the paternity test after his mother, Marsha Henson, claimed she had sex with Prince in 1976 in a Kansas City hotel, CBS reports.
She said she had not had sex for six weeks before the tryst, and had no other encounters until after she gave birth in April 1977.
"All we’re asking is the truth in this matter. It's an unfortunate circumstance," Williams' attorney, Patrick Cousins said.
Mr Cousins says Williams has long claimed to be the singer's son.
Williams was jailed for seven years in 2013 for illegally transporting a gun. He is being held in a maximum security prison in Florence, Colorado.
Williams is the latest person seeking a share of the Purple Rain singer's estate since his sudden and mysterious death last month.
A Kansas City woman who says she's Prince's half-sister has come forward, as well as a California man who contends Prince gave him control over his music catalogue through a verbal agreement in the mid-1990s.
Prince is not believed to have left a will.
His only known child, Gregory, died in 1996 a week after he was born.
