Hitman misses his target at point blank range

A bumbling hitman has failed to hit his mark at point blank range in a middle of an Amsterdam street despite catching the target off guard.

CCTV footage released by Dutch police of the October incident shows the helmeted man jump off the back of a scooter in a school carpark and approach a person on the street.

Despite being less than metre away from the man, the gunman still managed to miss.

The gunman gave chase as the frightened target took off through the carpark.

The masked man eventually managed to shoot the victim in the arm but was unable catch him as he fled across a street.

Police found the scooter down the road after it was set ablaze.

The suspect is believed to be in his early 30s.
