Girl aged four dies when bouncy castle explodes and sends her flying into the air

A young girl has died after being thrown from a bouncy castle.

The victim, aged four, was playing when the inflatable exploded yesterday at Gorleston Beach, in Norfolk, England.

One witness said she heard a loud bang and saw the girl catapulted six metres into the air.

Lifeguards at the beach performed CPR and she was taken to a local hospital but could not be saved.

“Cannot believe what I just witnessed on Gorleston Beach. Never ever will I let my girls on a bouncy castle ever. My thoughts are with the little girl’s family,” Kayla-Ann Weaver, who witnessed the incident said.

The area of beach where the incident happened has now been cordoned off as police launched a joint investigation with health and safety officials.

Brandon Lewis, Conservative MP for Great Yarmouth, tweeted: “Absolutely tragic, thoughts are with the family and friends, just so sad.”

A seven-year-old girl in Essex, UK was also killed in 2016 when the bouncy castle she was playing on got swept away in the wind.

Summer Grant was playing on the castle when it “cartwheeled” 300 metres down a hill with her still inside.

Two fairground workers were charged this year with her manslaughter.

A seven-year-old girl in San Luis Potosi, Mexico was also seriously injured in 2016 when the bouncy castle she was in got blown away.
