'Ghost rider': Runaway bike stays upright at French race track

A motorcycle took on a life of its own when it lost its rider, but amazingly stayed upright and evaded track officials during the Bol d'Or at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France.

French rider Frederic Bottoglieri was competing in the 24-hour endurance race when he lost control of his bike and was bucked off.

But unlike its rider, Bottoglieri's bike was able to stay upright and maintain momentum, cruising around the side of the track under its own power.

Amazingly, the runaway bike was able to avoid capture on two different occasions by swerving at the last possible moment to fool the stunned marshals.
