Former WWE wrestler foils would-be robber with impressive body slam

A former wrestler has disarmed a would-be robber after he pulled a gun on him at a Florida service station, using moves to make the WWE world proud.

CCTV video released by Coral Springs Police this week shows former WWE star Shad Gaspard, 35, picking up and flinging Jason Felix, 35, onto the ground.

Police allege Felix got angry after Mr Gaspar refused to buy him a beer, Local 10 News reports.

Mr Gaspard said Felix then lifted his shirt, grabbed a gun and put it in his waist belt, advising him to “get out of here, man, because I’m about to rob this place”.

A station cashier said she saw Mr Gaspard take the gun from Felix before forcing him outside and pinning him to the ground until police arrived.

"I grabbed him by the back of the head and I ran him into the store door," Mr Gaspard said.

"And when I ran him to the store door, I got him outside, I grabbed him in a rear choke and I threw him up and I got him on the ground."

Mr Gaspard has told local media he was using moves learned during work as a personal bodyguard and not his time as a wrestler.

He insists he acted on instinct and “wasn’t trying to be a hero”.

The California resident debuted in WWE wrestling in 2006 as part of wrestling duo “Cryme Tyme”.
