Daredevil athlete glides over active volcano for GoPro

Italian thrillseeker Roberta Mancino has flown over an active volcano in a wingsuit in a death-defying stunt.

In a project backed by GoPro, Mancino dove head-first from a plane and hovered over the top of the Chilean volcano, which spewed hot lava.

The experienced skydiver, BASE jumper and wingsuit flyer spent years training for the stunt at the Villarrica volcano, including testing how far above it she could go without injury.

“This one for sure was smoking hot,” she tweeted.

“It was insane!”

Mancino has completed more than 7000 skydives and has more than 50,000 Instagram followers.

She’s won many awards, including most recently placing second in the ProBase Worldcup held in Switzerland.
