Cyclist goes head over heels in pothole

When most people have an awkward fall, their first thought is, 'I hope nobody saw that'.

Bad news then for an unlucky Polish cyclist, whose spectacular and unexpected crash has gathered more than two million YouTube hits in four days.

A dashboard camera aboard a truck captured the moment the cyclist tried to overtake a line of cars by riding through a puddle at the side of the road.

But unbeknownst to the man, the shallow pool of water masked something for more sinister.

As the cyclist hits the puddle he is instantly flipped forwards by a pothole which throws him face-first into the murky water.

The cyclist climbs to his feet unharmed, shakes off the water and noticing the dashcam, shrugs in consternation.

The video was filmed on August 11 in a suburb on the northeast side of Warsaw.
