Colombian nun to showcase rapping talent during Pope Francis visit

Rapping nun Maria Valentina said she is looking forward to performing for Pope Francis during his five-day visit to Colombia.

Maria Valentina de los Angeles has become a sensation throughout Colombia after her talents were showcased on the television show A Otro Nivel in 2016.

The United Catholic Musicians then asked Maria Valentina to participate in the recording of the official hymn "Take the First Step".

The 29-year-old from Cali, who performs while wearing her nun’s coif, will perform during the upcoming Pope's Mass.

"Truthfully, this is a blessing we have received and now that it is getting closer, it is exciting,” Maria Valentina said of Pope Francis' visit.

The pope arrived in Colombia today to help promote peace following decades of insurgency.
