PHOTOS: Chinese zoo welcomes 'miracle' panda triplets

A zoo in China has welcomed a set of panda triplets, believed to be the world's first known surviving trio. 

Panda Ju Xia delivered the babies at the Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou earlier this month.

“It was a miracle for us and [the births] exceeded our expectations,” zoo general manager Dong Guixin said.

“It’s been 15 days. They have lived longer than any other triplets so far.”

Mortality in the animals is high. The only other panda triplets born did not survive, the zoo said.
