Man swings sledgehammer at car and then attacks passenger

A crazed man in the US has been caught on surveillance video swinging a sledgehammer at a car and then attacking a passenger with the weapon.

Apparently, the fight was over the armed man’s girlfriend.

“You’re cheating with my girlfriend,” a witness told NBC10 he heard the attacker yell out.

The incident occurred in a car park in Philadelphia at 1.30pm (local time) on Tuesday.

The footage shows an SUV drive into the car park and is followed by a red ute.

A man holding a sledgehammer then gets out of the ute and starts swinging the sledgehammer towards the other vehicle.

He smashes the driver’s window before striking the vehicle three more times.

As the SUV is then seen driving off, a man falls out of the passenger’s side of the car and the man strikes him with the weapon.

The SUV stops and the passenger limps towards the car and the man then hits the vehicle again.

Both vehicles drive off.

Police are investigating the incident.
