CCTV captures curious sea lion's unexpected shopping trip

The young sea mammal struggled up an impressive 145 steps to make the trip into the store.

It then spent at least ten minutes strolling around the store aisles before workers at La Jolla Cave Store lured it back out and down to the beach.

“Eventually, we got the sea lion out to Goldfish Point and from there, it went down the cliffs and into the ocean,” manager Rachelle Agosti said.

The store’s owner, Jim Allen, said he had seen sea lions come part-way up the stairs but never all the way into the store.
