The camerawoman who was caught on camera tripping a Syrian refugee and his son last month is now planning to sue him.

Petra Laszlo became an international pariah and was fired from her job at Hungarian broadcaster N1TV over the incident in which she appeared to kick two young refugees before tripping Osama Abdul Mohsen and his son.

In a surprising next move, Mrs Laszlo told Russian newspaper outlet Izvestia she is going to sue Mr Mohsen for changing his testimony against her.

"He changed his testimony, because he initially blamed the police," she said.

Mrs Laszlo said Mr Mohsen had already fallen over before she put out her leg.

"One of the refugees did not want to obey the police, he started to run away from them. I just wanted to help the police. And when I walked up to him, on the record it shows that he has already fallen," she said.

She had initially apologised for the incident saying "something snapped in me".

Mrs Laszlo said she was also planning to sue Facebook for failing to remove pages with threats against her.

The former camerawoman is now facing a criminal trial in Hungary for "breach of the peace", and says she and her husband feel they have no choice but to move overseas.

In stark contrast, Mr Mohsen was welcomed with open arms in Spain.

The former professional football manager was offered a job in a Spanish football academy.
