Armoured convoy causes chaos in Chinese city

A tank convoy has caused havoc on Chinese roads after crashing into at least two civilian cars.

Video was posted on Chinese social media website Weibo yesterday of tanks rolling down a street in the city of Suzhou in south-east China's Jiangxi province.

Without warning one of the heavily armed vehicles appeared to lose control and crashed across a barrier before it hit the side of the car.

Another video from the same day shows a woman in a Jeep get rammed by a tank as she tried to cross a nearby intersection.

The driver and passengers could be seen staring out of their windows in horror as the huge war machine pushed their 4WD onto two wheels before finally reversing back.

A soldier rushed over to the scene of the accident to help guide the tank driver.

According to the China Defense Newspaper, the tanks were heading to an emergency drill when the accidents occurred.
