Andy Murray has inadvertently landed a Davis Cup teammate in huge trouble with his girlfriend during an awkward interview following Great Britain’s triumph over the USA.

Footage from Eurosport shows Murray seemingly reveal that Dominic Inglot is cheating on his girlfriend while answering a question about how the team will celebrate in his absence.

“Well, Dom’s got a little girlfriend on the go here in Glasgow so he’ll maybe celebrate with her this evening,” Murray says as both his teammates and the broadcasters burst out laughing.

“Dom, Dom, Dom, come on, come on,” Murray continues.

“You’ve actually landed me in this ‘cause I actually have a girlfriend who will be watching this,” an embarrassed Inglot replies, prompting more laughter.

“On that bombshell,” presenter Annabel Croft begins saying as a shocked Murray keels over laughing.

The top ranked British player can be seen apologising to his teammate as Croft continues to close the broadcast.

Murray's reaction was not feigned with the Scot reportedly unaware that Inglot had been dating his girlfriend for six months.

While the “Glasgow girlfriend” Murray referred to was a woman who attended the Davis Cup tie and continually tried to get Inglot’s attention, according to the Telegraph.
