Temple built 3400 years ago unearthed beneath Cairo house

An ancient Egyptian temple has reportedly been unearthed beneath a house in Cairo.
The temple was uncovered by a group of men undertaking an illegal excavation beneath their house, news website Al Arabiya has reported.
The Egyptian government has since taken over the site, retrieving artifacts including several tablets, pillars and a pink granite statue.
It is believed the temple dates back 3400 years, to the reign of Thutmose III.
Under Thutmose III, the Egyptian empire reached the height of its power and cultural influence.
He conducted a series of campaigns that extended Egyptian rule as far as Syria and further south into Africa.
The pharaoh's mummy was discovered in 1881.
