Man dies as flash flood surges through Spanish towns

Spanish media has reported the death of an elderly man after flood waters surged through narrow streets in the province of Granada.

The 61-year-old man died when his car was washed away, Spanish News Today reports.

He took refuge from the flash flood in a car before it was swept away while witnesses watched on in horror.

Video has surfaced of trucks and cars being tossed around like toys by floodwaters in the town of Adra, where water levels rose more than half a metre.

A video posted to LiveLeak by dcmfox shows trucks slam into building walls as they are washed down the street.

Emergency services have put out a serious flood emergency warning.
