Yellowstone's Wes Bentley reveals 'disturbing' truth behind filming the final episodes

Love him or loathe him, Jamie Dutton had the world glued to their screens during Yellowstone's mid-season premiere.

But playing the troubled son takes its toll, actor Wes Bentley admitted this week.

The only place you can stream every episode of Yellowstone is on Stan.

Speaking to Newsweek, Bentley, 46, explained that playing Jamie changed him in ways he hadn't expected.

And it all began from the "depths" from Season 2.

"It was already starting to get pretty disturbing, and I had never really worked on one character for that long," Bentley told the publication.

"Even at that point, I could see him bleeding into my life a little bit. His anxieties, his emptiness and his loneliness.

"It was all starting to infiltrate and I think the longevity of doing a job like that will get you. I was trying to keep Jamie out of my regular life, but it's hard after so many seasons.

His character Jamie has had many dark moments over the past five seasons, caught in a family war ruled by shock twists and painful lessons.

The series' final instalment, with the sudden loss of family patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is no exception.

After declaring war on his own sister Beth, in a plot to impeach his father, the Governor of Montana, Jamie is now suspected of having something to do with his father's untimely death.

"Every interaction I ever have with [Jamie] is cathartic and also pretty depressing," Bentley admitted.

On that note, Jamie was happy to bid farewell to his character in some capacity.
