From $3 million penthouses to country Victoria: Inside the homes of the Travel Guides stars
The Travel Guides cast spends a lot of the year living out of suitcases in hotels, resorts and occasionally, to the horror of 'travel snobs' Kevin and Janetta, campervans.
But where do they live when they're not travelling the globe?

From small town Victoria to first homes, we unpack what the lives of The Frens, Kevin and Janetta, Matt and Brett, Karly and Bri and The Boys Kev, Dorian and Teng look like when they're at home.
Kevin and Janetta – Maldon, Victoria
Retired couple Kevin and Janetta like to live the high life, but when they aren't jet-setting they live a relaxed life at their home in the small central Victorian town of Maldon.
Kevin and Janetta used to live in inner-city Melbourne, but had a "weekender" in Maldon before making the permanent move. They told 9Entertainment why in the video below:
"We would come up here most weekends, friends would come and stay. Then when we retired we sold Abbotsford and moved up here permanently," Janetta explained.
As Kevin put it, "we then got bored with that" and so they bought their current home only 400 metres away, which needed a complete renovation.
"All I could see was money and trouble," Janette admitted.
"I don't mind a challenge," Kevin said, saying he had to replace the walls, roof and even the verandas around the home.

Kevin, a keen gardener, completely stripped the outdoors and started again to create a Tuscan-inspired garden.
Despite being long-time city slickers, they now love their small town life.
"Maldon's a great place to base yourself and you can radiate out. You can go to Bendigo, Ballarat's only an hour away, Daylesford's only 35 minutes away," Kevin said.
The Fren Family – Newcastle, New South Wales
Like co-stars Matt and Brett, the Frens are Newcastle through and through!
So much so, all four of them gave it five stars at the end of their Travel Guides staycation.
In June 2025, the family listed their central penthouse apartment for sale for $2.9 million to $3.15 million.

The three bedroom, three bathroom and two car park home sold by private treaty in September.
Don't fret, however, as Mark Fren confirmed the family were staying in Newcastle. How could they live anywhere else!?
In June 2024, Jono Fren and wife Dani bought their first home in nearby Cliftleigh, about 30 kilometres north-west of the city.
"An achievement we never thought we would achieve, but we got there!" the couple celebrated on social media.
"We are extremely happy with our first home purchase together and couldn't have done it without the support of our nearest and dearest."

They're now at home in their four-bedroom house, which will soon have a new arrival as Jono and Dani prepare to welcome their first baby!
Matt and Brett – Newcastle, New South Wales
Matt and Brett might just be Newcastle's biggest fans.
The duo are proud to be from Newy, and even write a regular column for local publication Newcastle Weekly.
When they're not travelling, they spend their time at home with their cat, Conrad.
Occasionally, Matt and Brett give fans an insight into their lives outside of Travel Guides when they film content from home.

In 2024, the stars aligned as Travel Guides arrived on their home turf, turning the couple into tourists in their own hometown.
"It turns out a great place to live is also a great place to have a holiday," Matt said.
Karly and Bri – Perth and Western Sydney
Karly is the show's resident Western Australian, living and working as a hairdresser in Perth when she's not filming.
And it goes without saying, she's a big fan of life in WA!

Meanwhile, bestie Bri is from Western Sydney.
Kev, Dorian and Teng – Melbourne
When they're not travelling, the boys Kev, Dorian and Teng are home in Melbourne.
However, they do occasionally travel for their (other) job too!
The trio don't just spend time in front of the camera – they also work behind it.
They've worked as camera and sound assistants, show runners and producers behind the scenes of The Block – so you may find them wherever the latest series is being filmed!
