From the best of friends to long-time couples, the Guides are regular Aussies from all walks of life. However, 2026 is shaking things up a little.

From reality TV favourites to a country music duo, you will certainly recognise some of the newest pairs.

As we dive into season 9, let’s get reacquainted with the cast of the show...

Eliza and Liberty

Because if there’s anybody that can push themselves out of their comfort zone in a new place, it’s sisters Eliza and Liberty.

With quite literally zero renovating experience they thrust themselves into the world of construction on The Block 2023.

Their Block house was snapped up by Adrian Portelli for a sweet $4.3 million and the sisters walked away with a life-changing $1.05 million profit.

Since then, the sisters launched their own podcast Try Before You Die, appeared on the series Do You Want To Live Forever? where they explored winding back their biological clocks and most recently, Eliza announced she’s expecting her first child.

Kevin and Janetta

Travel Guides' Kevin and Janetta

Cin cin! Nine

Kevin and Janetta have been stars of Travel Guides since season 1.

The discerning couple earned themselves the nickname “holiday snobs” thanks to their love for the finer things in life.

They’ve been travelling for over 40 years and know exactly what they want ... and what they don’t want. They love ships, five-star accommodation, business class travel and the luxuries high-end travel has to offer.

Kevin and Janetta shy away from budget accommodation, family-friendly activities, caravanning and camping and all-you-can-eat buffets. Apart from that, they’re up for most experiences.

The Boys: Kev, Dorian and Teng

Kev, Dorian and Teng are the tight-knit trio that have kept us laughing since season 2 in 2018.

Initially known as ‘the Target boys’ because they met while working at, you guessed it, Target, the boys are keen to give just about anything a crack.

They are all proud of their cultural roots and of being first generation Aussies. Kev has Chinese heritage, Dorian is Greek and Teng’s background is Vietnamese.

You might think that they get sick of one another, but that isn’t the case. When they’re not travelling, they even work together as production crew for The Block.

The Fren Family: Victoria, Mark, Cathy and Jono

Travel Guides' the Fren family

Say hello again to the Frens. Nine

There’s a good chance you know the Fren family quite well – they’ve been a staple of Travel Guides since it first burst onto screens in 2017.

Their family unit is made up of dad Mark, mum Cathy, sister Victoria and brother Jono.

The Frens are proudly born and bred in Newcastle and are loved for their loud and no-filter personalities. The family bond over food, especially buffets and fried food.

The Frens have been on our screens long enough that we’ve seen Jono marry wife Danielle in 2021 and welcome their first baby in March 2026, and Victoria wed her long-time partner Nathan in 2023.

Matt and Brett

Matt and Brett are a fun-loving couple from Newcastle (yep, that city is well represented on this show!) who joined Travel Guides in 2020 and have brought us plenty of laughs since.

The duo have been together for 22 years and tied the knot in New Zealand more than a decade ago – they never fight because Matt’s always right!

Matt and Brett are the voice of reason in the Travel Guides crew, they are keen on being moderately active during the day and enjoying cocktails at night.

Coffee culture, shopping, kayaking, karaoke, bushwalks, cruises, and nice meals are some of their favourite things, but they prefer to pass on high-adrenaline activities.

Karly and Bri joined the show for the first time in 2024.

While Karly hails from Perth and Bri from Sydney, their paths crossed while filming Beauty and the Geek for Channel 9, and they’ve been best friends ever since.

Both in their 30s and full of energy, Karly and Bri have definitely brought their wide-eyed wonder and glamour to the newer seasons of Travel Guides.

Before joining the series, Karly and Bri admitted their travel experience didn’t extend beyond Bali.

But as they head into their third season, they’ve already been to India, Nepal, the United States, Hong Kong, Canada, Peru, France, the Cook Islands, Switzerland, Tahiti, Spain, Portugal, New Zealand, Thailand and Japan – what a list!

Callum and Mitch

Callum and Mitch will join the Guides for an episode this season. Nine

Cheeky and boisterous, Callum and Mitch are sure to make a splash just like they did on Love Island Australia.

Welsh lad Callum was a contestant on season 4 in 2022 where he finished as runner-up alongside Madeline Wilcox. He later appeared on Love Island Games in 2023.

Mitch was a professional AFL player. He won season 3 in 2021 alongside Tina Provis, although the pair later split. He returned as a Bombshell in the 2022 series which is where he met Callum.

Since their Love Island experiences, one look at the lads’ social media proves they love a holiday – preferably somewhere warm, with a pool!

Brooke and Adam

Lucinda and Andie made their Travel Guides debut in Ireland. Nine

Lucinda and Andie became household names when they took a shot at romance on Season 11 of MAFS in 2024.

Neither of their on-screen relationships worked out but it didn’t matter, because they found each other and Australia found them!

The nation was instantly charmed by Lucinda’s quirk and Andie’s down-to-earth nature, and that continued when they joined the Guides on a trip to Ireland for the show’s special event episode earlier this year.
