Retired air force flight engineer Colin applied for Tipping Point Australia with the intention of winning money for a very worthy charity – which makes his impressive $20,000 victory even sweeter.

Colin, 54, told host Todd Woodbridge he intended to donate money to REACH Siem Reep, a charity that aims to improve living conditions for children, youth and families in the Cambodian city.

Colin had to work hard to achieve his Tipping Point goal though, as he faced off against worthy opponents in 47-year-old fitness director Andrew and 32-year-old tattoo artist Avalon.

He made it through to the final round with $2600 after an impressive comeback against Andrew.

His final round got off to a rough start with two wrong answers, but Colin pulled it back to build up a total prize of $4200.

However, then it was time to see if Colin could be tempted to keep going in the hope of winning the $20,000 jackpot.

You can hear Colin's inspiring story in the video below:

Todd offered him incredible money including a $100,000 jackpot for just one counter, but it was a more conservative offer of three extra counters for $20,000 and a luxury Airlie Beach holiday that was the most tempting for both Colin and his wife Wendy, who was watching on nervously from the audience.

Colin put all his money on the line in an incredible moment that very quickly paid off.

"That could've been $100,00 but who cares? Because you're going home with $20,000. It's about charity and it's about family. How important is this money?" Todd asked.

"Very important. We can do some good things with it," Colin replied.
