The Hundred

On most episodes of The Hundred with Andy Lee there's a segment where one willing, famous personality opens themselves up to potential roasting.

It's also a fun way for them to find out what Australia — via the show's 100 people who have dialled in via Zoom — really thinks of them.

Past guests include Blue Wiggle Anthony Field, reality star Abbie Chatfield and Australian cricketer Pat Cummins. This week the person in the hot seat was Today host Karl Stefanovic.

Andy Lee never introduces his guest because the first question The Hundred gets asked is whether they recognise the person.

Thanks to his daily appearances on our TV screens, 91 per cent of The Hundred recognised him, which was a relief to Karl as he had joked, "All I know is my contract is based on the response here."

Andy informed Karl that his result was a smidge better than his colleague Richard Wilkins, with 90 per cent of The Hundred knowing the entertainment expert.

"Do you want to know how many knew who Kochie was?" Andy teased.

"Of course I do. As long as it's not more than me," Karl said.

"We'll leave it then," Andy said slyly.

Karl was then handed cards containing questions he had never seen to ask The Hundred.

"Back in 2009, I showed up to work allegedly a little tipsy after a big night at the Logies," Karl said. "Do you think less of me after this?"

Panel guests Mike Goldstein, Sophie Monk and Tom Walker had to guess the percentage of people who agreed with the statement, and their answers were 10, 2 and 3 per cent respectively — a "very positive" result in Karl's eyes.

Comedian Tom Walker explained why he thought Karl's reputation wouldn't have been badly impacted by the incident.

"There's nothing more charming than doing a job badly," Tom reasoned. "It's good! Turning up hungover to do your job…"

"Just to pick you on one point, I was not hungover," Karl cut in. "I was still drunk."

As for the official result from The Hundred, 15 per cent thought less of Karl after that episode.

For his next question, The Hundred was shown a photo of Karl from his wedding with wife Jasmine. "Who thinks I am batting above my weight?" Karl asked, laughing as he read the question for the first time.

"Whatever," Karl said as everyone put their responses in. "What an awful question."

As Sophie gave him a sheepish smile he whispered, "Don't worry, I'm getting [Andy] back."

The results came through. With a response of 90 per cent Sophie's answer was lower than Mike's (98 per cent) and Tom's (100 per cent).

"You've got everything going for you," Sophie reassured Karl. "And you make a good earning, don't you? That gives you a couple of, you know… hotter points."

Mike got straight to the point with his guess of 98 per cent: "She's out of your league," the US comedian told Karl. "She's NBA, you're NBL."

Andy told Karl he could relate because "Bec's way out of my league".

And it seems like most of the audience agreed with Mike, because 97 per cent voted Karl was batting above his average.

At the end of his segment Karl was able to ask The Hundred any question he wanted. As he had hinted, it was time for him to get revenge on Andy.

"I've wanted to do this for a lot of years," he prefaced. "Do you think, panel, Andy should propose to his girlfriend Bec?"

Andy shook his head as he realised what the poll would be.

"This is unfair to Bec," Andy said, but true to his word he asked The Hundred to pop in their answers.
