Channel Nine's TV show line-up for 2022

Nine has announced its exciting line-up of TV shows for the coming year at its annual Upfronts event, held virtually this afternoon.

It's more of everything we know and love, with new seasons of Married At First Sight, The Block, LEGO® Masters and breakout hit Beauty and the Geek confirmed to return next year.

There will also be some fun Christmas specials to see out the year and thrilling new dramas to look forward to in 2022.

Love Island Australia

Love Island Australia will return to our screens for a third season, to be filmed in Byron Bay. A new batch of sexy young singles are set to return to the villa in search of love and fun in the sun.

Afterparty will launch to accompany Season 3, with Abbie Chatfield announced as host. It will be all things gossip, behind-the-scenes stories, and exclusive former and recently dumped Islander interviews.

Parental Guidance

Parental Guidance is a raw and confronting new series that will see 10 brave sets of parents with very different parenting styles, putting their methods to the ultimate test to determine who has Australia's best parenting style.

Snackmasters

Snackmasters is a unique cooking contest where highly awarded chefs at the top of their game go head-to-head to perfectly replicate famous Aussie snacks.

Hosted by Scott Pickett and Poh Ling Yeow from MasterChef Australia, each week the chefs will wrestle a selected snack into submission in their own kitchens, before entering the Snack Arena for a cook-off judged by the very factory workers who make the snack every day.

The snacks on the agenda include Twisties, Drumsticks, Whoppers and Cadbury Favourites.

LEGO Masters Christmas

LEGO Masters will return later this year for a LEGO Christmas.

The Christmas series will feature The Block host Scott Cam, Sophie Monk from Beauty and the Geek and Love Island Australia, Today's Brooke Boney and Michael "Wippa" Wipfli from Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Expect new builds, new twists and a whole lot of LEGO as we wish you a very Merry Bricksmas!

The Hundred with Andy Lee

The Hundred with Andy Lee launched as a new comedy format in 2021 with the mission to learn the stories behind the stats that make up Australia. To round out the year the show will find out what Australians really think about the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas.

Joining Andy Lee will be regular panellist Mike Goldstein, plus Sophie Monk and Becky Lucas and a certain jolly man facing The Hundred.

Weakest Link

Weakest Link returns for four supercharged episodes in the final quarter of 2021, featuring a rollcall of Australia's favourite celebrities and reality contestants.

Comedian and actress Magda Szubanski will be back again as host in the reimagined format of this classic quiz.

Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze

In Country Home Rescue, Shaynna, together with her children, embarks on the restoration of a dilapidated historical home in regional Victoria. They will navigate through a never-ending maze of problems when their grand plans are sideswiped by building restrictions, frustrating delays and a huge budget blowout.

Heart of the Nation, The World's Largest CPR Class

Heart of the Nation, The World's Largest CPR Class will educate viewers on how to perform life-saving CPR on adults and children effectively, hear the gut-wrenching stories of those who have experienced cardiac arrest, plus more! It will be hosted by Richard Wilkins, and will run in line with the Heart of the Nation charity founded by original Yellow Wiggle and sudden cardiac arrest survivor, Greg Page.

Taronga: Who's Who in the Zoo

Later this year viewers will again catch a glimpse into nature's true magnificence in the second season of Taronga: Who's Who in the Zoo.

Actress and passionate Centenary Ambassador for Taronga Zoo, Naomi Watts, will return as the narrator, transporting viewers into the magical world of Taronga.

Carols By Candlelight

Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight's annual Christmas Eve tradition continues this year with some of our best performers coming together from Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday, December 24, at 8.00pm.

New in 2022:

Underbelly: Vanishing Act

Underbelly: Vanishing Act tells the story of the bizarre disappearance of Melissa Caddick, the high-roller who allegedly embezzled over $40 million before vanishing into thin air.

It's a mystery that has left Caddick's family, clients and the police questioning everything they thought they knew about her.

Missing Persons Investigation

Missing Persons Investigation is a powerful new series that will go behind the scenes to join police and investigators across Australia to find our missing loved ones and bring them home.

Million Dollar Murders

Million Dollar Murders will revive cold cases, hoping to spark a long-forgotten memory or a change of heart that will bring justice for victims and their families, and the chance of a life-changing reward for a viewer, that can help to solve the case.

It will be hosted by recently retired Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace.

Returning in 2022:

Married At First Sight

Australia's biggest guilty pleasure and most talked about social experiment, Married at First Sight, will return for its ninth season.

Certified clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla and relationship experts John Aiken and Mel Schilling return to pair brave singles from across Australia with the goal of creating perfect matches.

The Block

The Block is set for a "tree change" in 2022 when it returns for an incredible 18th season, hosted by Scott Cam.

For the first time, Blockheads will head to the bush to transform a set of country houses into someone's great Australian dream.

LEGO Masters

LEGO Masters returns in 2022 with a whole new wave of brilliant building and imagination.

Host Hamish Blake and resident judge Ryan "Brickman" McNaught will be joined by eight new couples brimming with creativity and flair — fighting it out to win $100,000 and the title of Australia's LEGO Masters.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia

After an explosive return to television in 2021, Celebrity Apprentice Australia is back next year.

Lord Alan Sugar, the billionaire boss and business magnate, will be here again to shake things up — and fire the celebrities who fail to impress him.

The first three celebrities stepping up to the plate have also been revealed. Author and athlete Turia Pitt, one of Australia's most inspirational women, has been announced, along with comedy radio duo Will and Woody.

Beauty and the Geek

Beauty and the Geek, the heartfelt series that Australia has fallen in love with, will return in 2022.

Hosted once again by Sophie Monk, different worlds are set to collide in this big-hearted original series that showcases the power of love from the inside.

Australian Ninja Warrior

Everyday athletes will once again put their bodies on the line to tame the world's most difficult obstacle course and see if they have what it takes to conquer awesome Mt Midoriyama and win the coveted Ninja title, along with a potential prize jackpot of $200,000.

Emergency

Emergency tells the stories of the patients through the eyes of the highly skilled and dedicated staff at Royal Melbourne, who are always ready with heart, compassion and care for the constant stream of patients coming through the doors – in any emergency.

Travel Guides

Travel Guides will be returning in 2022 for a sixth season of rip-roaring destinations and no-filter adventures that are the ultimate traveller's guide for your next escape.

Taronga: Who's Who in the Zoo

Taronga: Who's Who in the Zoo will be back for its third season, following the day-to-day operations of Australia's two biggest zoos, Taronga in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

RBT

The new season, narrated by Andrew Daddo, will again capture all the drama and danger police face every day in their relentless campaign against drink and drug driving, while getting a glimpse into their major roadside operations.

Paramedics

Paramedics, which offers an unprecedented insight into the daily lives of our amazing emergency service heroes, will return for its fourth season. Frontline first-responders will be challenged with more confronting drama, inspirational patients and a raft of new medical emergencies.

Millionaire Hot Seat
