Check out the world’s first flying car

This isn’t a prop from the next Bond film – it’s a real life flying car.  A company in the Netherlands has been developing the PAL-V Liberty for more than 15 years and they are now accepting pre-orders for the part car, part gyrocopter aerial automobile.

The three wheeled PAL-V Liberty can fly up to 100 miles an hour and transition from road-mode to sky-mode in just 15 minutes.

It requires a 180 metre runway for take-off and the main propeller blades fold together and down above the cab when it is in land-mode.

For those interested, your standard driver’s licence won’t cut it. You’re legally required to have a pilot’s licence and it has to be launched from an airstrip or airfield. It’s also pretty pricey… the Sport model starts at $520K and the top end Pioneer comes in at $780K.

One things for sure, the future is here and it’s giving us major Jetsons vibes.
