This tower house looks like it's straight out of Dr. Seuss

Nestled in the Alaskan woods of the Mat-Su Valley, between Willow and Talkeetna, is a fantastical stacked home known by locals as the "Dr. Seuss House."

Towering over the surrounding trees, it's see how the semi-abandoned, crooked home has earned its nickname.

The owner and creator Phillip Weidner, reportedly only planned to build a standard two-storey log cabin until is imagination got the better of him. The qualified engineer kept building up and up resulting in a structure that measures in at 56-metres-tall, which works out to be somewhere between 14 and 17 floors. 

According to Atlas Obscurer Mr Weidner has been constructing the home for 18 years, but as one of the top trial lawyers in Alaska (is there nothing this guy can't do) has found it difficult to find time to add more floors in recent years. 

From the top, there's views reaching over 480 kilometres and between September and April its a prime spot to take in the Northern Lights.
