Saltwater Eco Tours
As a first of a kind tour operator combining Indigenous culture, maritime history and entertainment, Simon Thornalley's dream was realised when Saltwater Eco Tours launched in 2020.
As a young Indigenous man of Torres Strait Island descent who was born on the Sunshine Coast, Simon's love for the sailing lifestyle was introduced to him by his parents, who were world class sailors and environmentalists themselves. After two challenging years of building a business, developing a concept, inspecting potential vessels, Simon's dream was put on hold when his launch was halted due to covid. With perseverance Simon found a beautifully restored traditional sailing vessel, originally launched in 1925, and welcomed his first guests on board mid-2020, going from strength to strength since.
