Milton Watkins: Bookbinder
Take a step back in time with Milton Watkins, who has a passion for keeping the art of Bookbinding alive. A Master Bookbinder himself, Milton has worked on repairing paper from the 13th Century, to restoring books from the 16thCentury. There are only a few people in the country who know this craft and Milton hopes to inspire future generations to understand the beauty and art of the trade.
Although a rare and ancient craft, Milton has attracted some famous customers from the likes of Prince Charles to Pope Benedict XVI. Milton believes books still hold an importance and will be around for years to come, and in his words "if a book is made well it will last lifetimes, generations to come can read the memories of that book".
