Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens

In the heart of Tanawha, the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens is 82 hectares of native plants and wildlife, showcasing more than 25 years of hard work by a group of dedicated volunteers.

Growing up in Central Queensland, Maureen Sheargold dreamed of somewhere with greenery, which became her reality after moving to Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. Maureen was one of the original creators and designers of the Botanic Gardens, dedicating the last 25 years of her life to its growth.

The Maroochy Botanic Gardens would not be what it is today without the passion, commitment and dedication from the Friends of the Maroochy Botanic Gardens - composed entirely of volunteers, like Maureen.
