During childhood Jeska suffered vague seizures caused by epilepsy - an invisible condition that she was unable to explain due to her young age. She describes it as a terrifying experience.

After learning to draw and paint with her mum, Jeska learned to calm her nervous system while focusing on her work. Now an award-winning portrait artist, Jeska uses the fragility of lace to explore the strength of the human spirit, using it as a way to understand and overcome what she has experienced herself.

Always having a fascination for telling other people's stories, Jeska is now realising that she has a story to tell too, recognising what is broken within her and using art to put herself back together.
