Alex Ferlazzo: Luge
Coming from North Queensland, odds are that growing up you would have never even heard of the luge. But after a chance encounter, a teenage Alex Ferlazzo took to the sport like a Croc to a Townsville swamp.
The luge became his singular focus and by the age of 18 he was heading towards his first Winter Olympics.

Now heading towards his fourth Olympics, Alex is in the best headspace and best physical condition he's been in and coming off a career best year. While he has already achieved Australia's best ever position in the luge, the 2026 Winter Olympics is where he hopes to turn that into Australia's first ever medal in the luge.
