As a single mother of two-year-old twin boys, whose relationship ended because she found out her husband was cheating on her when their babies were just six weeks old, Poppy was understandably very nervous about walking down the aisle to marry someone she'd never met on Married At First Sight.

But it seems her groom, Luke, was equally freaked out — especially since he thought she was someone else when he saw her approaching.

During an appearance on tonight's episode of Talking Married, which airs exclusively on 9Now, Poppy revealed that Luke looked "scared s---less" when he saw her.

"He told me later that he thought I was his ex-wife," Poppy told Talking Married host Shelly Horton about the big reveal. "He must have thought it was a stitch-up because he thought from a distance that I looked so much like her, so I think he was really scared."

Poppy and Luke, along with Cathy and Josh, were the first two couples to meet and tie the knot on this year's season of Married At First Sight.

While Cathy and Josh clicked right away, it looks like Poppy and Luke, who is also a single father, will need a bit more time to warm up to each other.

After taking a little timeout at their wedding reception, Poppy came to the realisation, "I think he's actually a true gentleman, and he has all the qualities that I asked for."
