MAFS 2026 Episode 3 Recap: Camera catches groom sledging new model wife – while another bride is in tears over husband's 'arrest'

It's episode three of MAFS 2026 and the wedding bliss is palpable!

That's because we've begun the evening with Gia and Scott, who wake up cuddly and unable to wipe the smiles off their faces.

They're very excited about heading to Townsville for their honeymoon. Vibes are high! Love is in the air! We're all feeling so good!

How about you, Mel and Luke?

Thankfully, our other couples are more Gia and Scott than Mel and Luke, but we'll check back in on them later.

Bec and Danny's wedding

Tonight's first bride is Adelaide account manager Bec, whose parents are surprisingly chill about her springing on them that she's about to marry a random dude she's never met for our entertainment!

At 35, she's gone through a big physical and mental transformation and is looking for a man to match her energy and banter.

Enter: Danny, who opens with sage advice from "Oscar Wiley".

"You can never be overdressed or overeducated," he quotes. "I'm definitely not overeducated so I'm always overdressed."

He's a 34-year-old real estate agent originally from London, looking for a "ride or die" partnership like he's seen with his grandparents and parents.

Based on the fact they're both down to laugh, the experts reckon he and Bec could be just that.

Their wedding morning comes with an added surprise: Danny's best man Will, who rumour has it is a renowned Magic Mike impersonator.

Not that I'd know anything about that.

Danny's also found himself a fancy crown brooch that he's oh so spontaneously decided he will gift his new bride, representing the fact that you can't be a king without a queen.

His London is showing!

Bec and Danny like what they see on first impression, even more so when Bec starts roasting Temu Tatum in the front row.

This is going so well! What could possibly derail things? Danny, any thoughts?

"I'm looking for a Bonnie and Clyde type of love," he reads from his vows.

"With that being said, if I ever get locked up in prison, I'd like you to bail me out."

His bride definitely dislikes him joking about crime in his vows. Who could have foreseen this?

"I just want something serious, I don't want to be with anyone who gets arrested," Bec sobs.

She's ready to declare this a fail already: "It's not gonna work. It's not my husband, no way."

She says as much to his face as she insults his poor, innocent cat and then his admittedly very ugly broach during their photoshoot.

But Danny assures her he's here for the right reasons and eventually, she realises that maybe judging him so quickly was a little unfair.

At their reception, she apologises for her reaction and he respects it so much he offers her a gift.

A kiss ... and that God-awful brooch.

"I think it's heinous but I love the gesture," she says.

Cheers to that!

Brook and Chris' wedding

Chris, a 31-year-old construction supervisor, doesn't believe in the experts or the experiment, so how fun that he decided to sign up anyway!

He does believe in himself, however. Like, a lot.

Chris is brash and should probably learn the art of thinking before he speaks.

The experts he doesn't respect at all say that under the bravado, there's a caring guy who wants to find a real connection.

His match is 27-year-old model Brook, and I have a feeling he'll be changing his tune from the moment he lays eyes on her.

She's been cheated on more times than she can count and her job has helped her develop a thick skin, which may come in handy if she ever dares to fake tan.

Besides an actually decent partner, five-foot-nine Brook is hoping for a man taller than her.

Chris insists he's six-foot and while it's okay for him to be a sceptic, he doesn't want anyone else to be so he gets out a tape measure on camera to prove it.

After a fair bit of whining about the weather, Chris is finally happy about something when he lays eyes on his new wife – not that he'll admit it.

"Brook's attractive, what do you want me to f---ing say?!" he says.

Chris brings his relentless positivity to his vows, telling her he hopes they can be "the 0.0001 per cent that works from this experiment".

Within just minutes of meeting his bride, he's thinking they will be.

"So far I'd have to say, I'm more leaning towards it's going to work than it's not," he says.

Then, well, they go to seal it with a kiss ... and Brook offers up her cheek.

He's totally fine with it.

Totally, completely fine.

Brook's icked out by her husband's "diva" antics as he complains the whole way through their rainy wedding shoot but at the reception, she quickly bonds with his family and realises maybe all that stuff about a soft heart under a tough exterior has legs.

"I'm here to crack the nut," she decides.

They cut the cake, Brook allows him the honour of kissing her on the cheek for a second time, and Chris ends the night offering a teeny-tiny compliment.

"I at the moment, as I currently stand, am happy with Brook and the decision the experts have made."

Whoa! Rein it in, man!

The honeymoons

It's time to hop on a plane and check in with the newlyweds!

Bec and Danny are the lucky ducks who get the honeymoon everyone wants – Fiji!

The warm air obviously does wonders because as Bec so beautifully puts it, she "saw Daniel's Danaconda".

While she calls it "sensational", he ... doesn't.

He's questioning their sexual chemistry and doing a bad job at hiding it.

Despite things feeling more friends than lovers, he wants to stick around and give it a crack. Meanwhile, the rejection is tapping into Bec's insecurities.

"I feel undesired," she cries.

There are no such problems in Townsville, where Gia and Scott are questioning nothing, especially not sexual chemistry.

Brook and Chris are in the Hunter Valley and he's very pleased because so far, Brook ticks TWO of his boxes! He might even start apologising for his horrendous attitude soon!

In South Australia, Luke is talking to a brick wall. Sorry, I mean Mel.

To be honest, a brick wall would probably appreciate his jokes more. And probably wouldn't make him sleep on the couch with nothing but an old towel for a blanket.

Rachel's laugh is carrying through the Mudgee countryside, indicating she's having a nice time with Steven – or just really amused by his tummy ache.

And finally, Alissa and David may have been given a cold honeymoon destination but they didn't let their swimwear dreams die.

At Mount Buller, they get steamy in a shower for about five seconds ... and then there's a large bang.

Oh no. David's taken a tumble.

He's down on one knee again, but this time it's not on purpose.

Luckily for him, his new wife is a nurse.

Alissa springs into action dressing the wound and fixing him up – in a bikini, no less! It's not ideal ... but could be worse?

Tomorrow night, the weddings continue and so does the honeymoon fallout. Apologies to David for that choice of words.
