After keeping a massive blunder under wraps for the past month, Michael Brunelli has opened up about what went down when he left Sydney to meet Martha Kalifatidis in the UK.

And yes, this is worse than the sandwich saga that the pair had a heated debate over.

Speaking on The Handbags podcast, Michael revealed that the mistake took an entire month to resolve and he can now speak about what went down.

Michael began telling listeners he was left with the task of bringing Martha's high-end clothing over with him. Which sounds like an easy task, don't you think? Think again.

After staying in a hotel room prior to his flight, Michael hung Martha's luxury clothes up, thinking it would avoid damaging them in a suitcase.

"Coming off an hour's sleep, I checked the room, I zipped up the bags and I left," he said in the podcast, which you can listen to in the video above.

It more than 30 hours later when Martha asked for her clothes that Michael realised that his suitcases were a little lighter.

"First suitcase opened, not there. Second suitcase, opened... also not there," he said.

"That is the moment my heart started to beat out of my chest. And I thought, 'I've left the high-end clothes, the most expensive clothing that Martha has in a hotel room, in Sydney'.

It wasn't an easy process getting the lost clothes overseas. Instagram

Luckily the couple managed to track down the lost clothes and had Martha's mum, Mary, send the clothes to Italy.

"But it got stuck in customs for 3 weeks. Once it finally got released, we weren't in Florence anymore so it couldn't be delivered," Michael wrote on his Instagram story.
