'Not good enough': MAFS' Evelyn Ellis shares travel nightmare after small passport mistake derails entire Bali trip
Married At First Sight star Evelyn Ellis has shared her travel nightmare this week after she was denied boarding due to a damaged passport.
The 29-year-old was preparing to board an international flight to Bali, but was turned back because of her simple passport mistake.

Evelyn took to Instagram to share her "terrible day" and the unexpected chaos that followed.
"Had a terrible day yesterday. I was denied boarding because of a small tear on my passport," she explained.

In a series of posts, she recounted the stressful ordeal.
"Poor Duncan had to drive me around the city all morning," said Evelyn, in what we could only imagine was a race to secure another passport.

"Then I lost my helmet at one of the three locations we had to stop by to make this happen."
Following the mission it took to take new passport photos, which of course need to be approved, it seems the Season 10 bride wasn't having much luck.
"Got my photos done at office works but apparently that was not good enough..." she captioned the portrait photos.

"Five locations later and two passport reshoots you can see I'm quite over it 😂," Evelyn couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
She of course also had Duncan to thank, who sounds like saved the day.

"God bless this man! He steps in when I'm no longer able to put sentences together 💕😅.
With a well-deserved beer and airport selfie later, Evelyn could confirm she was finally on her way.
Evelyn isn't the first TV star who was denied a flight recently.
Just last week Season 7 groom Mikey Pembroke was refused to board a plane, this time because of small smudge on his passport.

While it might come as a shock to many, the Australian Passport Office warns passport holders that "even minor damage or alterations can void your passport and stop you from travelling".
What can make a passport invalid?
According to the government office it's important that there are no:
- altered or missing pages
- tears or cuts
- marks, stains or discolouration
- souvenir stamps, written marks or lines
The expiry date is another factor that can effect a passport's validity. While it sounds like an obvious one, many countries won't let you enter if your passport is going to expire in six months or less, so it's not just the expiry date printed that's important.

Many frequent travellers may have lots of stamps on the pages of their passport. Some countries won't let you enter unless you have at least two to four blank pages in your passport.
Any unauthorised stamps such as souvenir stamps can also make your passport invalid.
Unfortunately, some travellers fall victim to scams. The Australian Passport Office stresses that if you need to renew or apply for a new passport to only do so through the official government website.
Lesson learned? You might want to double-check your travel documents before jetting off!
