Joel came under fire at the fourth Dinner Party for having a teddy bear at the ripe old age of 31.
Co-star Gia even went as far as to say that if she was his wife she'd cut Teddy's throat and throw him in the ocean.
During Tuesday night's special Retreat Week episode, the mood was low thanks to the drama unfolding between Bec and Rachel, so Joel decided a light-hearted interruption was needed to lift the group's spirits.

"Last week, Gia had a lot to say. She said no masculine man can have a teddy bear ... now I think it's her chance to apologise to the man himself," Joel announced to everyone.
At that point, Joel unveiled Teddy from under his jacket, and the whole group, including Gia, erupted into cheer.
"It's so much worse than I imagined," Sam laughed.

Joel shushed the laughter from the crowd and demanded Gia apologise to Teddy for her comments.
She was of course happy to oblige.
"I want to issue a formal apology to Teddy. He's actually way cuter than I thought he was gonna be," she said.
"Teddy, I'm really sorry if you felt like shit over my words. Teddy, I'm sorry."
On that note, the whole group raised a toast to Teddy.
