Exclusive: Danny reveals off-camera ordeal with Bec that saw him almost quit MAFS

EXCLUSIVE: When Danny and Bec packed their bags and left the MAFS Couples Retreat, Danny admitted he "was on the verge of leaving the experiment" all together.
Danny felt he had to remove himself and wife Bec from their co-stars after "Bec lay in the room crying for two days" over the fallout from her lewd toast about Rachel and Steven and Gia and Juliette's subsequent name-calling and involvement in the drama.

Danny also appeared on Today Extra to unpack the drama with hosts David Campbell and Sylvia Jeffreys, but his segment was interrupted by an unlikely intruder.

"Watching her, it was depressing to me. I shouldn't be hanging out with the group and I wasn't going to leave Bec alone like that," Danny told nine.com.au.
"She put on a brave face in front of the cameras, but any time the cameras stopped rolling she'd be in the room just crying."

After Juliette insulted Bec by calling her a "freak and a dumb c---", Danny said he was ready to leave for good.
Danny and Bec left the Couples Retreat in the middle of the night to stay at a hotel, without telling their co-stars.

Danny dubbed the Couples Retreat "the lowest point" of the experiment. Nine
While Danny and Bec were upset with some people in the group, the groom said that they did receive some support.
"Some of them did text and say 'Hey, we noticed you were gone. Is [Bec] OK?' Yeah, people did reach out," he said.
